JUAN   A.  FERRER

He studied in the Conservatory Joaquin Rodrigo in Valencia, where he obtained the title of clarinet teacher with the top marks (High Honors and the Extraordinary End of Studies prize).

At the same time he studied with teachers José Vicente Herrera, Andrew Marriner, Alan Damiens, Walter Boeykens, Anthony Gigliotti, Guy Deplus, Jehuda Gilad, etc.

In February 1993, selected by teacher Jehuda Gilad, he obtained a scholarship for studying in the University.of Southern California.

Since 1994 he works in he Symphonic Orchesta of Galicia, as principal clarinet. He has toured around Europe, Asia and America, working with well-known directors as Lorin Maazel, Daniel Harding, James Conlon, Sir Neville Marriner, Osmo Vanska, Guennadi Rozdestvenski, Peter Maag, Jesús López Cobos, Stanislaw Scrowaczewski, Alberto Zedda… He has been invited, as an artist and a teacher, in Spain, France, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Colombia or Costa Rica. He has also participated in the I, II, III, IV and V Ibero-American clarinet Academy. He is Buffet-Crampon and Vandoren-Paris artist.

Furthermore, he has recorded a disc with pieces of Fernando Buide, Octavio Vázquez, Salvador Brotons, Vladimir Rosinskij, Karolis Biveinis, Juan Duran…In April 2015 he took in the jury of the prestigious competition of clarinet in Ghent (Belgium).
